Department of Environmental Affairs: Switchboard Operator

Requirements:

  • Grade 12. No experience required. Knowledge of Administrative procedures.
  • Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and coordination skills, planning and organizing skills, writing skills, listening skills, ability to gather and analyse information, ability to work under pressure and work independently withlimited supervision and ability to work long hours.Duties:
  • Render switchboard services.
  • Attend to incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Keep record of all outgoing calls.
  • Maintain switchboard system.
  • Report any faulty telephone problems.
  • Update departmental internal telephone list.
  • statistics for incoming and outgoing calls.
