Samancor: Maintenance Artisan Instrumentation Mechanician

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To safely maintain low and high level instrumentation used in industry.
  • To safely carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to all instrumentation.
  • To safely do fault finding on technical equipment and instrumentation.

  • Complete a breakdown work order
  • Create a notification
  • Providing correct feedback
  • Executing work
  • Applying fault finding techniques
  • Conduct regular plant inspections
  • Maintaining and/or repairing low level and high level instrumentation and technical equipment
  • Perform standby duties

All breakdown work orders correctly completed:

  • No non-conformances
  • All notifications correctly completed containing:
  • Correct Functional Location
  • Clear description of problem
  • Correct priority selected
  • Correct main work center identified
  • “Reported by” field filled in

All feedback correctly filled in by selecting correct

  • Complete with correct item confirmations
  • Performing work in a safe and reliable manner ensuring the highest level of workmanship
  • Assessing breakdowns and applying appropriate fault finding techniques to pinpoint root causes quickly and efficiently
  • All defective equipment identified and reported timeously
  • All instrumentation maintained and/or repaired correctly, safely and according to standards;
  • interpret instrumentation diagrams and job cards

Knowledge:

Actuators, level detectors, PLC, Densitometers and belt scales(programming)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / N4 & Trade test (Section 26D trade qualification)
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience.
  • SAP experience will be advantageous.

Additional qualifications:

Medical fitness as per organisational requirements
