What you can expect

The incumbent will be required to assist the Shift Plant Foreman and Deputy Shift Foreman to produce and finish products that are required to meet the sales and operations planned requirements in the safest and most efficient way possible. Duties will include the following: 

  •     Read handover book, complete tasks that were in progress at the end of the previous shift
  •     Prepare solutions as required
  •     Loading and unloading of bulk tankers
  •     Remove empties from the production facilities after charging is complete
  •     Assist in the maintenance of a high standard of safety and housekeeping in work and in general
  •     Responsible for safe operation of plant and equipment
  •     Carry out regular plant inspections as per checklist during shift
  •    Transport raw materials and finished product using the forklift
  •     Prepare the filtering equipment and filter the product into bulk storage or drums. Ensure no spillage and monitor until filtration is complete
  •     Ensure that product filled has been passed by Quality Control
  •     Ensure that bulk tanks are not overfilled by checking dips prior to transferring product

What we expect 

  •     Completed Grade 12 qualification with Maths and Science
  •     NQF level 2 in Chemical Operation learnership
  •     Forklift license
  •     Basic computer literacy including e-mail
  •     Previous work experience in a chemical plant preferred
