In this role you will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing fire and risk management processes for the organisation by developing operating models.
You will conduct a risk assessment which involves managing the process of analysing upside and downside risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the quantitative and qualitative risks affecting the business.
You will do a risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, e.g. to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks.
You will be required to monitor and review processes to ensure risk and compliance arrangements are in place. You will conduct audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
You will be able to provide support, education and training.
You will ensure that services rendered by an external service provider is conducted in accordance with agreed service level agreements and in accordance with Technical Purchasing terms and conditions.
You will implement and maintain and Fire Loss and BI prevention program, guided and approved by the BMW Group Insurer.
You will be responsible to serve and protect human life, property, and reduce loss of revenue and/or goodwill through rapid emergency response, delivering a service in, fire suppression, fire loss, fire safety processes, hazardous chemical substance spillage control and emergency medical response.
Qualifications and experience
B.Tech – Fire Prevention.
South African Emergency Services Institute -National Higher Certificate: Fire Service Technology Level 6 (SAQA ID 16750).
Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2.
10 years’ experience in the operational field in a senior leadership or management capacity at a recognized Fire Department.
5 years’ experience in addressing and or challenging Allianz and GRC Audits.
Analytical skills with creativity and initiative.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and activities.
Ability to identify problem areas and enforce change.
