You will be responsible for contributing to SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People) achievement in accordance with internal BMW objectives through efficient use of personnel, material and finances:
Systemic approach to alignment of Physical Logistics Shopfloor resources to physical processes in coherence with SAP systems processes to achieve Shopfloor targets.
Promotes team work through initiative generation (continuous improvement focus).
Develop training needs for associates in all processes to achieve 100 percent in Logistics processes.
In terms of problem solving topics:
Coordinates Problem Solving Process teams to eradicate recurring logistics failures.
Leads “specialized” and/or cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
The collection, analysis of data to provide actionable information.
Process design for optimization / improvement with consideration of Man, Machine, Method, Material, Measurements, and Environment to achieve / realise processes that are sustainable / repeatable, transparent / measurable:
Process design with strong consideration of SAP system functionality (SAP system knowledge and system design key to process design input).
Setting Standards – Maintenance (Ensure Process Adherence), Quality and Material Flow processes aligned with best practice (SAP, Logistics, VPS, etc.).
KPI Design and Enhancement towards process optimization and control.
MTM (Time Study) completed as base for headcount calculations, and within Planning System (LPP)
Ensure entire Logistics Processes conform to LLP (Including Workstation Layout).
Conduct Awareness & Training for new Processes that are being introduced, and where required reinforcement Training and Awareness.
Ensure that all Tools and Equipment are readily available and in a Good Working Condition. New tools and equipment must have a planned maintenance, TPM back-up solution, and Shopfloor aware of maintenance plan, TPM and have emergency contacts.
Ensure that all Process Documents are readily available and up-dated.
Process document creation. Process documents include (and not limited to): Standard Work Instruction (SWI) with MTM and calculated inputted frequencies, Coaching Instrument, p-FMEA (Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis), VSM (Value Stream Map).
Process Adherence check design (consideration of KPI and on-site observation). Actual participation in Process Confirmations with deviation investigation for potential process improvement. Responsible for operational and project budget with focus on budget (efficiency) targets. Manages and optimizes the business relationship with suppliers in accordance with Purchasing Outline Agreement. Stand-in for Section Manager on Shopfloor (as required operationally). Ensures all work conforms to all IMS requirements as per Business Excellence model. Responsible and Supports Logistics with implementation of all systems in order to meet IMS requirements.
Qualifications and experience
Industrial Engineering or Logistics Degree or Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience in automotive assembly production plant
Minimum 5 years experience in the motor industry
Shopfloor Logistics / Assembly experience an advantage
SAP knowledge (good understanding of system transactions).
SAP Key User experience is advantageous
Knowledge and Skills:
Statistical analysis, problem solving, process capability, project management, FMEA
SAP knowledge in Inventory and Warehouse Management. PP Kanban knowledge advantageous.
